Our Tandem program was launched in 2017 with the aim of teaching the correct use of the bicycle as well as teaching how to use it correctly as well as promoting cycling as a way of life. As a first step, we developed the curriculum and teaching materials that formed the program’s backbone and published a self-published cycling manual. The manual contains recommendations, regulations, traffic situations, tour suggestions and a first-aid guide. At the same time, a mini pocketbook containing the regulations in Romanian and Hungarian was created. In parallel with the development of the curriculum, a team of instructors was also trained, which was made with the contribution of the partner organization Velo Academia from Târgu Mureș. An educational course was created and planned in Sfântu Gheorghe, in which a total of 70 volunteers participated.
At the bike school, students can participate in four hours of theoretical training, two hours of first aid training and six hours of practical training. Participation in the Tandem program takes place in small groups of min. 5 people, in groups of max. 12 people. You can apply to the email address of the association.
