The Turul Office is the county-level coordinator of the DOFE program since 2017. The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award was launched in Great Britain in 1956 by Philip II, Duke of Edinburgh, husband of Queen Elizabeth, along with German instructor Kurt Hahn and Lord John Hunt, leader of the first successful Everest expedition.

The program provides alternative training for young people between the ages of 14 and 24, with the aim of educating them for life outside of school. During the training, applicants take on a weekly role in three areas: volunteering, developing physical skills, developing mental skills, and concluding the program with a boundary-pushing tour, which they carry out on their own from planning to execution. Young people can complete the program at three levels, which represent the duration, these are bronze, silver and gold.
