Last month, the Creative Frames Workshop, the latest project of Turul, was successfully completed. This exciting initiative offered young people the opportunity to get a glimpse into the world of stop-motion filmmaking. The aim of the workshop was to train creative youth aged 14-18, providing them with the chance to learn the basics of scriptwriting, photography, and video editing.
During the first session, the focus was on getting to know each other, with an emphasis on teamwork preparation. Under the theme “Every Day Little Miracles,” the participants explored how these small wonders could complement our previous projects and programs. This creative brainstorming laid an important foundation for the work to come.

The second session was dedicated to scriptwriting, where the participants gained insight into the process of creating a script and developed the foundations of their own stop-motion short film scripts.

In the third session, participants delved into the world of photography, learning about the parallels between stop-motion techniques and traditional photography. The young creatives also had the chance to individually practice applying this artistic style in both filmmaking and photography.
The fourth session focused on video editing, where participants edited the previously created photo sequences into a coherent story. This session allowed them to master the editing techniques crucial to the creation of a stop-motion short film.
In the final camp session, the young participants brought their collaboratively written script to life, working together on both the photography and video editing. As a result, their own stop-motion short films were created, which will soon be showcased.
The stop-motion short films, produced as a result of the project supported by the Romanian AFCN (National Cultural Fund Administration), will soon be presented, providing an opportunity for young talents to showcase their creations to a wider audience.
