Career Compass – for the Future Professionals

Career Compass – for the future professionals is a two-year international Erasmus+ project implemented by the Com.Pass Association (formerly Turulmadár) in partnership with the Slovak organization TANDEM, n.o.
The program runs from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2027, and aims to support young people with fewer opportunities in consciously planning their professional future, developing personal skills, and finding their own path in the world of work.

Why is this program important?

Today’s young people face numerous challenges: an uncertain vision of the future, a lack of information about career opportunities, a rapidly changing labor market, and difficulties in making decisions. This is especially true for young people living in rural areas or coming from low-income or single-parent families, who have fewer opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Career Compass provides these young people with the tools, knowledge, and inspiration they need to become more confident, find their own direction, and build a realistic vision for their future.

Program objective

The project aims to involve 50 young people – 25 from Romania (Covasna County) and 25 from Slovakia (Nitra region) – in a comprehensive development program focused on career planning, personal growth, and resilience building.
Participants will work with mentors, take part in both individual and group sessions, explore different professions, and, by the end of the program, each will create their own individual career plan.

Main activities

  • Mentoring program: each young participant receives personalized guidance from a mentor who supports their development and decision-making process.
  • Career orientation and skills development trainings: participants will explore 20 different professions and take a closer look at at least 5 fields that interest them the most.

  • Resilience and self-awareness development: training sessions that help young people become more perseverant and confident when facing change.
  • Digital learning and labor market insights: participants will work with modern digital tools and gain a practical understanding of the contemporary world of work.
  • International exchange of experience: young people from both countries will take part in joint workshops and study visits, gaining valuable intercultural experiences.

What do young people gain?

  • A well-defined career path and a personalized development plan.

  • Greater self-confidence and deeper self-awareness.
  • Enhanced decision-making, communication, and social skills.
  • Experience in international cooperation and exposure to the world of work.
  • A supportive community that inspires and empowers them.

International cooperation

The project is based on the collaboration between partners from Romania and Slovakia, who have over 15 years of experience in youth work, mentoring, and community development.
This partnership enables young people from both countries to learn from one another, discover best practices from the partner organization, and build a long-term international youth network.

Expected results and impact

  • Involvement and active participation of 50 young people in the program.

  • Development of 50 individual career plans.

  • Presentation and practical exploration of 20 different professions.
  • Improvement of young people’s resilience, self-confidence, and digital competencies.
  • A jointly developed and adaptable methodology by Com.Pass and TANDEM for youth career development.

Career Compass believes that every young person deserves the chance to discover their abilities, understand their strengths, and find a vocation in which they can truly thrive.
The project not only provides knowledge and direction but also opens a gateway to the future – towards a more confident, self-aware, and collaborative generation.
